German Orange Cake Recipe

  1. Cream butter well to incorporate air, gradually adding sugar.
  2. Beat in egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift together flour, baking pwdr, salt.
  4. Add in dry ingredients to creamed butter mix alternately with 1/2 c. water.
  5. Beat well.
  6. Add in extract.
  7. In a very clean bowl (one trick is to rub the bowl with vinegar), beat egg whites till stiff but not dry.
  8. Fold gently into batter.
  9. Turn mix into 2 greased layer cake pans.
  10. Bake in preheated 350
