Bay's Margarita Chiffon Pie

  1. Combine 1/2 cup sugar,water,yolks,jello,and lime juice in the top of a double boiler.
  2. Cook ingredients OVER boiling water until thick.
  3. Add grated lime peel.
  4. Chill mixture in refrigerator until it forms little mounds when dropped with a spoon.
  5. Whip egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  6. Fold in 1/3 cupt sugar.
  7. Continue to fold mixture lightly in turn into the lime/margarita mixture.
  8. Fill pie crust.
  9. Chill until set which may be several hours.
