Gingersnap Molasses Cookies
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tsp powdered ginger
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cloves (I use in between 1/2 and 3/4 teaspoon)
- 1/3 cup extra sugar or vanilla sugar for rolling
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, molasses, egg, baking soda, salt, spices, and flour.
- Mix well.
- Form into 1 inch balls and roll in the extra sugar or vanilla sugar.
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheets, and make sure to not place the cookies too close to one another.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
