Libbie's Delicate White Cake
- 34 cup butter
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 12 teaspoon almond extract
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 12 cups cake flour
- 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 34 cup chopped walnuts
- 5 large egg whites
- Cream butter and sugar; add flavorings.
- Sift dry ingredients three times.
- Add dry ingredients and milk, alternately, to the butter mixture.
- Add nuts.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and then fold them into the batter.
- Place batter in a greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan.
- Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes or until brown.
