Buttercream Icing Recipe

  1. Cream butter and shortening then add in vanilla.
  2. Add in sugar a c. at a time beating on medium speed.
  3. Add in lowfat milk 1 Tbsp.
  4. at a time and beat on high till fluffy.
  5. HINT: To cut the sweetness I usually add in about 1/4 teaspoon of salt dissolved in the vanilla.
  6. Makes 3 1/2 cupsThis is the icing I use to decorate cakes and it has a wonderful flavor.
  7. It is my Dad's favorite icing (especially on brownies).
