aloo parathas
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 water as required
- 5 large potatoes(peeled and boiled)
- 2 small onions(chopped finely)
- 3 each green chillies(chopped)
- 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 bunch green coriander(chopped)
- 3/4 tsp coriander powder
- 3/4 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1 dash of ground black pepper
- 1 salt to taste
- 1 oil for cooking
- For Dough:mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.add water to form soft dough(so that it does not stick when formed into balls)
- form medium sized balls out of the dough & set aside
- For the stuffing:mash the potatoes in a bowl.
- add all other ingredients with the potatoes.form balls(slightly smaller than the dough balls) and set aside
- Making parathas:Roll the dough ball into a 2inch circle on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
- now cover the potato ball with the dough circle completely covering it,effectively stuffing the dough with the potatoes
- flour the stuffed ball & roll it into a thin circle.it may tear a little,wen this happens apply a little flour & roll gently on the edges
- heat a skillet.cook the rolled paratha on the heated skillet on medium high heat.when it colors on the bottom flip it and apply a little oil on the upper surface,repeat this process on the other surface too,so that it is golden & cooked on both sides
- repeat the above steps for all the remaining balls.
- serve the parathas with butter on it(as much as you like or as little as you like) and with ketchup or sour cream etcetera!!!!!
