Caramel Apple Squares Recipe

  1. Arrange crackers in bottom of 12 X 8-inch dish, cutting crackers to fit, if necessary.
  2. Microwave 15 of the caramels and 2 Tbsp.
  3. of the lowfat milk in small microwavable bowl on HIGH 1 TO 1 1/2 min or possibly till caramels are melted and mix is smooth, stirring after 1 minute.
  4. Spread over crackers; sprinkle with 1/3 c. of the walnuts.
  5. Chill.
  6. Pour 1 c. lowfat milk into large bowl.
  7. Add in pudding mix.
  8. Beat with wire whisk 1 to 2 min.
  9. Gently stir in 1 c. of the whipped topping.
  10. Spread over caramel layer.
  11. Chill at least 3 hrs or possibly till ready to serve.
  12. Garnish with remaining whipped topping, 1/3 c. walnuts, apples and marshmallows.
  13. Microwave remaining 7 caramels and 1 Tbsp.
  14. lowfat milk in small microwavable bowl on HIGH 1 min or possibly till caramels are melted and mix is smooth, stirring after 30 seconds.
  15. Drizzle over top of dessert.
  16. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.
  17. NOTES : Creamy Cold Whip complements the best of the season's apple harvest.
