Meat Cabbage Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium skillet, melt butter and saute onions until soft.
  3. Add ground beef.
  4. Cook until no longer pink.
  5. In a 2 quart buttered casserole dish, layer carrots and half of the cabbage.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Add meat, press down slightly.
  8. Add remaining cabbage.
  9. In a bowl, mix spaghetti sauce, worcestershire and chives.
  10. Pour over casserole.
  11. Cover and bake for about 1 hour.
  12. Sprinkle cheese on top and continue baking for 5-8 minutes until the cheese melts.
