Grannie Mc Kenzie's Chocolate Meringue Pie Recipe
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tbsp. all purpose flour
- 3 tbsp. cornstarch
- 6 tbsp. cocoa pwdr
- 2 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Blend together sugar, flour, salt, cornstarch, cocoa.
- Stir into warm lowfat milk.
- Cook over warm water in double boiler till thick.
- Add in small amount of warm mix to beaten egg yolks.
- Stir well and add in to mix.
- Cook two min longer.
- Cold.
- Add in vanilla.
- Pour into baked pie shell.
- Top with meringue and brown.
- MERINGUE: Beat egg whites till stiff.
- Add in 4 Tbsp.
- sugar.
- Put on top of pie.
- Bake at 350 degrees till brown.
