Harvey Wallbanger Pie Recipe
- 1 pkg. Knox gelatin
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 1/3 c. Galliano
- 2 tbsp. vodka
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. whipping cream
- In med.
- sauce pan, combine gelatin, 1/2 c. sugar and salt.
- Add in orange juice, water, lemon juice and egg yolks, mix well.
- Cook and stir over medium heat till gelatin dissolves and mix is lightly thickened.
- Remove from heat; cold slightly.
- Stir in the Galliano and vodka.
- Refrigeratetill partially set.
- (Mix resembles unbeaten egg whites.)
- Beat egg whites till soft peaks form.
- Gradually add in 1/4 c. sugar, beating to stiff peaks.
- Fold into partially set gelatin.
- Whip cream to soft peaks; fold into gelatin mix.
- Refrigeratemix till it mounds when dropped from a spoon.
- Turn into pastry shell.
- Refrigeratetill hard.
- Top with Cold Whip and garnish with twisted orange slices.
