Glazed Strawberry Pie
- 2 cups strawberries
- 12 cup sugar
- 12 cup water
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 (125 g) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (500 g) package whipped topping
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
- 1 pie shell, baked (9-inch)
- GLAZE: Combine 1 cup sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup water, sugar and salt in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook for 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Mix cornstarch in 1/4 cup cold water.
- Add to strawberry mixture.
- Bring to a boil.
- Continue cooking untl sauce thickens.
- FILLING: Mix 1 cup topping thoroughly with cream cheese and icing sugar.
- Spread cream cheese mixture in pie shell.
- Cover with half the strawberry sauce.
- Cover with whipped topping.
- Chill until set, about 2 hours.
- Serve 6.
