Cedar Point Crab Gumbo
- 1 cup minced bacon (or enough bacon grease to fry onions and garlic)
- 2 cups minced onions
- 2 large garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 cups sliced okra
- 2 lbs fresh tomatoes, cut finely (or canned tomatoes)
- 1 lb crabmeat
- First, lightly brown onions and garlic.
- Then add flour, stir and add okra and about 1 quart of hot water.
- Pour into soup kettle.
- Add more water and salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook gently until vegetables are done.
- Add one pound of crab meat and cook 20 minutes.
