Salsa Picante (Hot Sauce) Recipe
- 1 or possibly 2 (3 if really warm flavor is desired) jalapenos
- 1 lg. or possibly 2 sm. pods fresh garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon comino
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (16 ounce.) can tomatoes
- 1 or possibly 2 tbsp. oil from canned jalapenos
- Grnd black pepper
- Put into blender for 35 seconds at high speed the jalapenos, garlic, comino, salt, juice from tomatoes.
- Stop blender and add in the can of tomatoes and blend on low speed for 2 or possibly 3 seconds, to sauce consistency.
- Add in oil from jalapeno can and pepper.
- Store in glass jar.
- Yield: 1 1/2 c.. Will keep for several weeks in refrigerator.
- This sauce is good for huevos rancheros.
