Savory Ham and Apple Bread Pudding
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1- 1/2 cup Milk (whole, Skim Or Almond Are Fine)
- 1/4 teaspoons Allspice
- 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 18 teaspoons Thyme
- 18 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 8 slices Whole Wheat Bread, Cut Into Cubes
- 1 whole Tart Apple, Like Granny Smith, Cored And Diced
- 8 ounces, weight Chopped, Cubed Ham
- 1 cup Shredded Applewood Smoked Gouda Or Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Butter, Melted
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and spices.
- Add bread cubes and stir well making sure to coat all the bread.
- Let it stand for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Add the apple, ham and half of the cheese to the soaked bread.
- Stir to combine then pour the mixture into a 9 x 9 baking dish.
- Drizzle the melted butter on top and cover with the remaining cheese.
- Let it stand for 10 more minutes to allow the bread to continue soaking up the liquid.
- Bake for 40 minutes, until set and lightly browned.
