Fluffy and Soft Beef Bowl
- 300 grams Thinly sliced beef
- 1 Onion
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Sake
- 3 tbsp Mirin
- 200 ml Dashi stock
- Slice the onion into 5mm wedges.
- Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan, and fry the beef.
- When the meat is still red, add the sugar, mix, and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the onion and fry for about 30 seconds.
- Add the ingredients and mix into the meat and onions.
- Add the dashi stock and simmer for about 5 minutes until it's done (skim off the surface scum).
- Stop the heat and let sit a little for the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- If you wish, add beni shoga (red pickled ginger) or shichimi (7 season spice) on top.
