Caramelized Onion Dip
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil
- 1 large red onion, sliced
- 12 cup sour cream
- 12 cup mayonnaise
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 18 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- crackers or chips
- Saute onion in butter and oil until caramelized (golden brown), about 20 minutes.
- Cool and combine the remaining ingredients.
- Mix well and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Serve with crackers or chips.
