Savory Bake Stew
- 2 lbs lean stewing beef, diced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 ounce onion soup mix (1 envelope)
- 6 medium potatoes, quartered
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 10 ounces condensed cream of celery soup
- 12 cup water
- 12 cup sherry wine
- Preheat oven 250-300.
- Put meat in heavy casserole.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper and onion soup over the meat.
- Add potatoes, carrots and onions.
- Combine celery soup, water and sherry.
- Pour over meat, cover and bake for 5 hours.
