Canadian Beef Stew Recipe
- 1 lb boneless bottom round steak
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 tsp garlic salt healthy pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp corn oil
- 1 x onion
- 1 c. beef broth
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 1 lrg potato
- 3 x -4 carrots
- 1 tsp parsley flakes crushed thyme
- Cut meat in 1 inch cubes.
- Chop onions and pare and dice potato to make 2 c.. Also pare and dice carrots.
- Mix flour, salt and pepper in bag.
- Dust meat with flour, then brown in oil covered pan.
- Add in onion, broth and wine.
- Cover tightly.
- Simmer slowly 1 1/2 hrs until tender.
- Skim off any fat.
- Add in the potatoes, carrots, parsley flakes and seasoning to pot.
- Cover and simmer an additional 30 minutes.
- Serves 4
