Grammie Wagoner's Chicken Pie Recipe
- 1 lg. fryer
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 3 c. chicken broth
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Salt to taste
- 4 boiled Large eggs
- 1 recipe pastry dough
- Stew chicken till tender in seasoned water.
- Remove bones and dice meat.
- Heat butter in skillet, stir in flour.
- Add in broth and lowfat milk.
- Cover over medium heat, stirring constantly till thickened.
- Place half of chicken in casserole.
- Pour sauce over layer of chicken.
- Add in pepper and sliced boiled Large eggs over chicken and sauce.
- Add in rest of chicken.
- Cover with latticed pie crust.
- Bake in 400 degree oven till brown.
