Habenero Pomegranate Hot Sauce
- 12 habernero peppers
- 6 serrano peppers
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 pomegranate
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 white onion
- 2 tsp sugar
- Chop peppers, onion and garlic.
- Set inside food processor.
- Remove all seeds from pomegranate and run through a juicer.
- Will produce roughly 4-5 ounces of juice with no pulp or seeds.
- add all items (except pom juice)and just enough vinegar to the food processor and let it chop as fine as it will get.
- Simmer pomegranate juice on low, stirring frequently, until you notice it is just starting to thicken up.
- Just trying to evaporate some of the water from the juice.
- add all items to pomegranate juice and simmer on very low for about half an hour.
- Let cool completely then strain with cheesecloth or coffee filters.
- Gives a nice sweet note right up front and then the habs take it from there.
- Very interesting flavor.
- My new favorite of my homemades!
