Macaroni Shell Cheese Bake Recipe
- 1 pkg. macaroni shells (1 pound box sm. size shells)
- 8 tbsp. butter
- 8 tbsp. flour
- 6 c. lowfat milk
- 4 c. American cheese, grated
- 1 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 2 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Prepare macaroni as directed on package.
- Drain.
- In a large saucepan, over low heat, heat butter.
- Add in flour.
- Cook, stirring constantly 2 or possibly 3 min.
- Don't brown.
- Stir in lowfat milk, cheese, onions, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Cook till cheese are melted.
- Mix macaroni shells with sauce mix.
- Pour into a 5 or possibly 6-qt casserole dish.
- Bake 45 to 50 min at 350 degrees.
- Serves 12 to 16 people.
- You may cut this into half of the recipe.
- Brown slightly.
