Chinese BBQ Chicken Wings
- 2 lb Chicken wings
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp table Salt
- 1 tbsp Chinese 5 spice
- 1 tbsp Powdered ginger
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Rice Wine or Sherry
- 1/2 tsp Sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp Chinese 5 spice
- 1/4 tsp Powdered ginger
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion powder
- Mix dry rub ingredients and set aside.
- Pat the chicken wings as dry as possible.
- Then "season well" with the rub.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.
- Mix ingredients for BBQ sauce and refrigerate until needed.
- Set up your grill for Indirect Heat with a drip pan in the middle (add water).
- Place on the grill over the drip pan and cook at 350F for 45 minutes.
- After 45 minutes glaze the wings with the be BBQ sauce.
- cook for additional 5 minutes, just until the sauce is nice and sticky.
- Glaze with sauce again.
- Continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Glaze with BBQ sauce 2 more times.
- (cooking about 5 minutes each time after adding the glaze).
- Let rest 5 to 10 minutes before serving..
- You can cook in the oven at 350F for 30 minutes.
- Then reduce heat to 300F and glazed with bbq sauce and cook for 5 minutes.
- Glaze and cook for 5 minutes again.
- Then glaze for the third time and cook an additional 5 minutes.
