Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Gingersnaps
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg
- 2-3/4 cup flour
- 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- Dark chocolate kisses candy
- Cinnamon-sugar mixture
- Heat oven to 375F.
- In large bowl, combine brown sugar, shortening, and molasses; beat at medium speed until smooth.
- Add egg.
- Beat well.
- Add flour, baking soda, ginger and cinnamon; beat until well mixed.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mix, place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375F for 9 minutes, immediately press one candy into center of each cookie.
- Place in refrigerator or other cool place until cookie is cool and chocolate is set.
