Sauerkraut Soup Recipe
- 1 lg. piece of cured ham with bone
- 2 lbs. dry lima beans
- Water
- 6 potatoes
- 2 lg. cans sauerkraut, liquid removed
- Put ham and lima beans in large pot and fill with water.
- Cook 2 to 2 1/2 hrs.
- Remove ham, let cold a little then spread the ham and place the ham back into the pot.
- Peel 6 potatoes and cut into pcs.
- Add in potatoes to soup.
- When potatoes are done, take a potato masher and mash the ingredients in the soup for a few min.
- Add in sauerkraut.
- Cook 15 min more.
