Grandma's Lazy Day Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  3. Combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup whipping cream in 1-quart saucepan.
  4. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, 6-7 minutes or until butter is melted.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Combine sugar and eggs in bowl.
  7. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  8. Add melted butter mixture, flour, baking powder and salt.
  9. Continue beating until well mixed.
  10. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  11. Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  12. Heat broiler.
  13. Stir together all frosting ingredients in bowl until well mixed.
  14. Spread over warm cake.
  15. Broil 2 to 4 inches from heat 2-4 minutes or until bubbly all over.
  16. Cool 15 minutes.
  17. Serve cake warm or cool.
