Cajun onion straws

  1. Mix milk and vinegar and set aside
  2. Cut onion in half, then into thin strips, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning
  3. Soak union strips in milk for an hour or two
  4. Mix 2 cups flour and and quarter cup Cajun seasoning together.
  5. I like to put mine in a paper bag, easy to toss and clean up
  6. Drain onions thoroughly and add to flour mix a little at a time
  7. Shake off as much flour as you can and fry, and drop one or two at a time into 375F oil
  8. Remove when golden brown and salt if desired
