Cookie Town Train Station

  1. Cut frame pieces from foam core, labeling pieces as they are cut.
  2. Front: 17 x 12 inches; Back: 17 x 9 inches; Sides (2): 7 inches wide x 9 inches high at back and 12 inches high at front; Roof: 7 1/2 x 17 inches; Side Overhangs (2): 4 x 17 1/2 inche s; Transitional Pieces for Overhangs (2): 4 1/2 x 4 inches; mark center of one 4 1/2-inch side; cut from mark to ends of opposite side to form triangle with 4 1/2-inch base; Base: 17 x 6 1/2 inches
  3. Glue or tape front, back and sides to base; attach roof.
  4. Attach overhang pieces, letting pieces angle downward so triangular pieces fit in corners.
  5. Let dry.
  6. Draw line up center of front and 2 lines across front approximately 3 and 8 inches from bottom to serve as guides for attaching cookies.
  7. Mark area of double doors, adding 1/4-inch at sides and top for door jamb.
  8. Cut heavy paper for windows: 5 x 3 1/2 inches for 2 side windows, 6 x 5 inches for 2 front windows and 5 x 3 inches for 1 window above door.
  9. Wrap each piece with plastic wrap, stretching wrap slightly and securing with tape to back.
  10. Attach windows t o building with tape.
  11. (Window edges will be covered with cookies.)
  12. Decorative Trim Pieces: Make side window shutters by trimming gum to fit on sugar wafers; attach with Royal Frosting using small writing tip.
  13. Decorate shutter as desired.
