Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit

  1. Preheat oven to 450F
  2. In a large bowl mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Add shortening slowly working it into the dry ingredients.
  4. (preferred hands)
  5. Add Buttermilk working it into the mixture.
  6. After everything is thoroughly mixed plop into a floured surface.
  7. Knees dough until it is about the consistency of clay.
  8. You can make it thicker by sprinkling more flour.
  9. Pinch off a church & roll it into a ball & then pat it flat about 1 1/2 in.-2 in.
  10. thick.
  11. if you want perfect looking biscuits,use a rolling pin & a cookie cutter 2 in.
  12. in diameter to make biscuits look better.
  13. cut out biscuits & place on a lightly greased/floured baking sheet about 1/4in.
  14. apart.
  15. place in center of rack & bake until golden brown about 14-18 min.
