Pineapple Chicken
- 3 lbs broiler-fryer chickens
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon msg
- 13 cup salad oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 23 cup water
- 13 cup celery, chopped
- 12 pineapple chunk
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 14 cup honey
- 14 teaspoon ginger
- 13 cup corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sherry wine (optional)
- Cut up chicken.
- (or purchase cut-up whole chicken).
- Mix together egg flour, salt and MSG.
- Dip chicken pieces into mixture and fry in oil until well browned.
- Add water, garlic, pineapple and celery.
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes until chicken is tender.
- Blend, in a small bowl, cornstarch, honey and ginger.
- Mix well with corn syrup and soy sauce.
- Pour into chicken sauce and stir over medium heat until smoth and creamy.
- Serve with rice.
