Our Favourite Cherry Winks

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  2. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
  3. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until well blended after each addition.
  5. Drain cherries.
  6. Cut 18 of the cherries into quarters; reserve for garnish.
  7. Chop remaining cherries and stir into cookie dough with nuts and dates.
  8. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  9. Roll in crushed cereal.
  10. Place, 2 inches apart, on lightly greased baking sheets.
  11. Top each with 1 reserved quartered cherry.
  12. Bake 10 to 12 min.
  13. or until lightly browned.
  14. Let stand on baking sheet 1 min.
  15. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  16. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.
