Buttermilk Biscuits With Nuts And Orange 2 Recipe
- 1/4 c. cottage cheese whipped
- 1 tsp mild extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. minced brazil nuts
- 2 Tbsp. egg substitute
- 3 Tbsp. buttermilk (3-4)
- 3/4 c. reduced fat Bisquick
- 1 pch baking pwdr
- 1 pch salt
- 1/2 tsp grated orange rind
- Combine cottage cheese, shortening and nuts.
- Fold in the egg substitute and buttermilk.
- Combine Bisquick, baking pwdr, salt and orange zest.
- Add in this to the creamed mix.
- Stir till just combined - adding another Tbsp.
- of buttermilk if needed.
- Let stand 10 min.
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Divide dough into 6 equal portions and drop each portion on a sprayed cookie sheet.
- Bake 9 to 11 min or possibly till the top is beginning to brown.
- Let stand 30 to 60 seconds.
- Remove from cookie sheet and serve warm.
- NOTES : Discovering nuts in scones or possibly biscuits is a pleasant surprise.
- Great idea for soups or possibly salads.
