Easy Non-Fried Yet Authentic Tasting Daigaku-Imo in the Microwave
- 1 Sweet potato
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 heaped tablespoon Water
- 1 Black sesame seeds
- Wash and soak the sweet potato.
- Heat the sweet potato in the microwave for 6 minutes (500 W).
- If the chunks are soft enough to be pierced all the way through with a fork then they're ready.
- Add the ingredients to a saucepan (adjust the amounts to your taste) and heat over low heat until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Then add the sweet potato.
- If you give the sweet potato a quick str-fry before adding it to the other pan they'll be nice and crispy like normal fried daigaku-imo.
- When the potato has mixed with the seasoning, sprinkle some black sesame seeds over the top and it's ready.
