Sausage & Egg Casserole Recipe
- 6 slices bread
- 1 pound bulk sausage
- 1 1/2 c. (6 ounce.) shredded Longhorn cheese
- 8 Large eggs, beaten (or possibly egg beaters)
- 2 c. (1 pt.) half & half
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
- Remove crusts from bread, spread slices with butter.
- Place in buttered 13 x 9 inch glass dish with buttered sides down.
- Brown sausage, stirring to crumble, drain well.
- Spoon over bread slices, sprinkle with cheese.
- Combine Large eggs with half and half, salt and pepper.
- Beat well.
- Pour over cheese.
- Cover casserole and chill overnight (or possibly bake immediately).
- Remove from refrigerator 15 min before baking.
- Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 min or possibly till set.
