Herbed Cream Cheese In Pastry
- 1 package Cream Cheese (8 Ounce Package)
- 1 teaspoon Dried Dill Weed
- 1 package Refrigerated Crescent Rolls, 8 Ounce Tube
- 1 whole Egg Yolk
- 1 teaspoon Water
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F).
- Open cream cheese package and sprinkle the dill weed evenly over the top.
- Unroll crescent roll dough and press seams together.
- Place the cream cheese on top of the crescent roll dough seasoned side down.
- Wrap the dough around the cream cheese just like you are wrapping a package.
- Trim away the excess dough.
- It will only take a little over half the crescent roll dough to wrap the cream cheese.
- Tuck the ends under to seal.
- Place the pastry wrapped cream cheese on a baking sheet, seam side down.
- If desired, decorate the top of the pastry with some of the excess crescent roll dough.
- In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk and water.
- Lightly brush the top and sides of the pastry with the egg wash.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve with sliced apples and pears.
