Boiled Pot Pie Recipe
- Cooked ham, beef or possibly chicken (your choice), cut into sm. pcs
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 2 tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/3 c. water
- 4 lg. potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced
- To make dough: Mix flour, salt and baking pwdr in bowl.
- Add in shortening and cut into dry ingredients as for pie crust.
- Add in to this 1 egg and water mixed together to make dough.
- Mix well and form into ball.
- On floured surface, roll out as thinly as possible.
- Cut into 2 inch squares.
- Boil meat and broth (add in water to make 2 qts).
- Add in diced onion.
- When boiling, add in layers of sliced potatoes, then dough, etc.
- Cover and cook 20 min.
- If you must add in water, add in boiling water.
