Minerva's Applesauce Cake

  1. Sift all dry ingredients, add eggs one at a time, beating well.
  2. Add butter and applesauce.
  3. Beat until well blended.
  4. Dredge nuts and raisins with flour, add them last.
  5. Pour batter into a tube pan which has been greased and lined with waxed paper.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until done.
  7. Glaze: Combine all ingredients and boil for one minute, pour over cake while hot.
  8. During Christmas I add 1 cup dried fruit and I garnish with red and green Marschino cherries.
