Budget: Bean Pot On The Run Recipe
- 1 x Ham bone, or possibly ham hock
- 2 c. Tomato juice
- 1 x Onion, minced
- 1 x Sweet green pepper, minced
- 4 whl cloves
- 28 ounce Canned baked beans
- 19 ounce Canned kidney beans, drain
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Dry mustard
- If you dont have a ham bone, or possibly ham hock, a piece of smoky bacon or possibly smoked sausage will suffice.
- In large saucepan, combine ham bone, tomato juice, onion, green pepper and cloves.
- Bring to boil and simmer for 30 min.
- Remove bone from pan.
- Cut away any meat.
- Throw away bone and cloves.
- Return meat to pan along with baked beans, kidney beans, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and mustard.
- Bring to boil; simmer for about 20 min or possibly till sauce is thickened.
