Grandma Lloyd's Chocolate Cake!
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 eggs, well beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 ounces chocolate, melted
- 2 12 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon flour, for pan
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, mix well between each addition.
- Add chocolate and milk.
- Add sour milk to batter and mix well.
- (Sour milk- add 1 teaspoons vinegar to milk).
- Combine baking soda, flour and a pinch of salt.
- Slowly add flour mixture to batter until well beaten.
- Grease and flour pan.
- Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
