Black Beans Ham Hocks Recipe
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin or possibly to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper (black)
- Salt to taste
- 2 ham hocks
- 1 bay leaf
- Warm sauce to taste
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 pound black beans
- Let beans soak overnight.
- Chop pepper (bell), onion, garlic, fry lightly with ham hocks, bay leaf and butter till it looks yummy.
- Drain bacon and wash.
- Combine pan mix with beans in same juice.
- Add in warm sauce to taste.
- Cook on low 4-5 hrs or possibly till mushy.
- Serve over rice with green onions.
