Charlotte's Chili Pie

  1. Dice bacon and fry till crisp.
  2. Add onion and saute till lightly browned.
  3. Add ground round, crumble with a fork, and brown quickly.
  4. Add seasonings, mushrooms, and beans.
  5. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.
  6. Pour into a shallow baking dish and top with corn bread mix prepared according to package directions.
  7. Bake at 450 degrees until top is browned and cornbread tests done.
