Simple Rice Mix with Komatsuna and Pork Belly

  1. Separate the komatsuna leaves and stalks and chop into small pieces.
  2. Cut the pork belly into strips and lightly season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over a medium heat and cook the pork belly.
  4. When the pork is no longer pink, add the chopped komatsuna stalks and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add the chopped komatsuna leaves and mix everything together.
  6. Add marked ingredients and combine well.
  7. Turn off the heat.
  8. Add the komatsuna and pork-belly mixture from Step 5 to warm, cooked rice and using a rice paddle or a spatula, folding thoroughly to combine.
  9. Sprinkle with the ground sesame seeds to finish.
