Saffron-Aioli Toasts

  1. In a mortar work the garlic, saffron and salt to a paste.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice.
  3. Gradually stir this mixture into the mayonnaise, beating until smooth.
  4. Grill or toast the bread.
  5. Spread half of each slice with the mayonnaise mixture and serve alongside the mussels or cod.
