Bisquick Pear Brunch Cake Recipe
- 1 can pear halves (16 ounces) liquid removed
- 1 3/4 c. Bisquick(r) Reduced Fat baking mix
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. margarine butter or possibly spread,* melted
- 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 2/3 c. plain nonfat yogurt
- PREP TIME: 9 minBAKE TIME: 50 minMakes 8 servings
- If you are a nutmeg lover, sprinkle about 1/4 tsp.
- grnd nutmeg over the pears.

- Heat oven to 400F.
- Grease and flour round pan, 8x1 1/2 inches.
- Cut pear halves into thin slices.

- Stir together baking mix, sugar, lowfat milk and margarine.
- Pour into pan.
- Arrange pear slices in circular pattern on batter; sprinkle with cinnamon.

- Bake 45 to 50 min or possibly till golden and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Top each serving with yogurt.
- *If using spread, use only stick which has more than 65% vegetable oil.
- High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Heat oven to 425.
- Decrease baking mix to 1 1/2 c. and add in 1/4 c. Gold Medal(r) all-purpose flour.

- NOTES :This recipe calls for canned pear halves.
- I think it would be good with apple too.
- Just poach or possibly stew an apple.
- Or possibly halve a gala apple, and remove the seed core.
- then zap it in the microwave (cut side down on a plate) for about 60-90 seconds on high or possibly till tender but not soft.
- Let it stand till cold sufficient to cut.
- It will continue cooking while standing.
- Tarter apples take longer.
- The recipe says: "245 calories (70 calories from fat); 8 g fat " so 70/245 = 28% of the calories are from fat (cff)
