Tijuana Torte Recipe

  1. Brown grnd beef and onion in skillet.
  2. Add in stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, chilies, and taco seasonings mix.
  3. Combine thoroughly and simmer 10-15 min.
  4. Place in about 1/4 c. meat mix in bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  5. Place 2 tortillas side by side on meat mix.
  6. Top each tortilla with some meat mix and grated cheese.
  7. Repeat till each stack contains 6 tortillas layered with meat and cheese.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min or possibly till cheese is bubbly.
  9. Cut each torte (stack) into quarters with a sharp knife before serving.
  10. Serves 4-6.
