Barley Bannocks Recipe

  1. Add in the soda to the lowfat milk.
  2. Sift the dry ingredients.
  3. Now add in the buttermilk and make into a light, soft dough with little handling.
  4. Make a round of about 1/2-inch thick and cut into wedges.
  5. Bake on a medium to warm girdle on both sides, till brown.
  6. Keep soft and hot by wrapping in a cloth.
  7. Originated on the Island of Stornoway.
