Tree Oyster & Okra Stew

  1. Melt butter in saucepan and brown onions slightly.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, except the oysters.
  3. Cook slowly over a low heat stirring occasionally to prevent sticking for 35 minutes.
  4. By this time the rice will be tender and the sauce thick.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Pour into a heated casserole dish.
  7. Add the oysters, allow to stand COVERED for 5 minutes before serving.
