Alaska Dungeness Crab Cakes Recipe
- 2 c. dungeness crab meat - (10 to 12 ounce) thawed if necessary
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. chopped green onion
- 1/4 c. chopped celery
- 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 x egg beaten
- 1 dsh bottled warm pepper sauce - (generous)
- Salt to taste
- Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- Flour as needed
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- Combine all ingredients except flour and oil; mix well.
- Chill.
- Shape into 4 cakes, about 3/4-inch thick.
- Dust with flour.
- Saute/fry crab cakes in warm oil on both sides about 10 min or possibly till golden.
- This recipe yields 4 crab cakes.
- Comments: For warm crab sandwiches, serve on toasted English muffins.
- Delicious served with chili sauce.
