Ham Barbecue

  1. Melt butter in saucepan.Whisk in the onion, vinegar, mustard, worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together the water and flour until well combined.
  3. Slowly add this to the mixture in the pan.
  4. Add in the ketchup.
  5. Bring to a simmer and whisk constantly until mixture thickens, about 2 minutes.
  6. Chop your ham until it is in small thin shreds.
  7. Add it to the sauce in the pan and slowly heat the mixture.
  8. Simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes, partially covered, stirring occasionally
  9. Scoop mixture onto individual rolls and top with a slice of Muenster or Swiss cheese.
  10. Enjoy a taste of nostalgic central Pennsylvania!
