Texas Straw Hats Recipe
- 1 c. onion, minced
- 2/3 c. celery, minced
- 2/3 c. green pepper, minced
- 3 tbsp. oil
- 2 lbs. grnd beef
- 2 to 3 teaspoon chili pwdr
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 (6 ounce.) cans tomato paste
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 2 c. water
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Dash of Tabasco sauce
- Tostada chips (or possibly nacho chips)
- Cheese, shredded
- In large skillet, cook onions, celery and green pepper in oil till tender.
- Brown beef separately.
- Drain.
- Mix beef with onion, celery and green pepper.
- Add in remaining ingredients except chips and cheese.
- Simmer, uncovered, for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Serve on chips.
- Top generously with cheese.
- Serves 6.
