Custard Bread Pudding With Whiskey Hard Sauce Recipe
- 3 c. white bread, 1" cubes
- 1 quart. light cream
- 7 med. Large eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- Healthy pinch nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Crack Large eggs and mix them till smooth.
- Heat light cream till hot, then pour cream into large bowl.
- Mix Large eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon together and add in to cream.
- In 9"x11" pan, spread cubed bread proportionately, pour the cream and egg mix over bread.
- Submerge bread to prevent over browning.
- Bake for 50 min in a water bath in 350 degree oven or possibly till toothpick comes out clean.
- SAUCE: Heat butter in tall pan, while whipping melted butter add in sugar slowly till blended smoothly.
- Add in the whiskey slowly while whipping till smooth.
